Our Story

In 1980, Eli Segal acquired American Publishing, a jigsaw puzzle manufacturer located in Watertown, MA. Three years later, the company launched "The Great International Puzzle Collection," and Bits and Pieces was born. In 1986, Eli was joined by his brother Alan Segal, making Bits and Pieces a family business. In 1988, Bits and Pieces took a significant step by initiating the manufacture of its own private label jigsaw puzzles.

The year 1992 marked a pivotal moment as Alan became the majority shareholder, taking on a more prominent role while Eli departed to lead AmeriCorps. Bits and Pieces continued to expand its reach, entering the Canadian market in 1993. In 1995, the company embraced the digital age by launching its website and making its mark in the UK market as well.

As the years unfolded, Bits and Pieces underwent further transformations. In 2009, it acquired the Spilsbury Catalog, and in 2015 ventured into the world of Amazon to reach a broader audience.
