US Speed Puzzling Nationals Competition Taking Place March 27-29, 2026
Every year, the US Jigsaw Association hosts the USA Jigsaw Nationals to highlight the sport of speed puzzling, featurethe best puzzlers around the country, and connect with puzzlers from around the country. From March 27-29, 2026, the annual event will be home to fast solves, friendly rivalries, and community connections. Speed puzzlers will compete solo, with a partner, or on teams, and there will be a puzzle convention with vendors (including Bits and Pieces), seminars, and plenty of jigsaw puzzles to put together.
Event Overview
The 2026 US Speed Puzzling Nationals, taking place March 27-29, will be hosted at the  Atlanta Convention Center in Atlanta, GA. Core formats include  500-piece and  1,000-piece  timed solves, pairs, team relays, and specialty brackets like blind bag draws and head-to-head knockouts. Final puzzle lists and brands are announced in advance to ensure fairness and consistency. Outside of speed puzzling, attendees can connect with fellow puzzlers and puzzle companies. There will be vendor booths from various puzzle companies, seminars, puzzle art signings, casual puzzle competitions, and a dedicated  puzzle swap area!
Participation Details
Participants from any country can compete and must be 12 or older; competitors under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian. Participants should be comfortable with standard jigsaw puzzles and agree to official timing and judging procedures. Accessibility accommodations are available on request. You must register to compete at least 1 week prior to the convention dates.
Entry fees are set per category. Individual rounds are priced per event, while pairs and team formats offer bundled rates. There are multiple ways to pay your entry fee, as well as options for spectators. Medals and certificates are awarded after finals, with rankings posted online the same day.
Here's what to bring and what will be provided:
- Plan your arrival: 45–60 minutes before your first heat
- Bring: photo ID and registration confirmation
- Allowed accessories: non-electronic sorting trays
- Provided on-site: sealed puzzles, official timing, snacks and beverages, warm-up space
Puzzle Convention Highlights
Alongside the puzzle contest schedule,  the puzzle convention features exhibitors, casual puzzle tables, artist signings, and seminars. You’ll find puzzle companies like Bits and Pieces showcasing exclusive jigsaw puzzles, accessories, and merchandise. The puzzle convention runs all weekend, and vendors will sell puzzle collections and host demos between major rounds. This is a great place to meet fellow puzzlers, explore new brands, and learn strategies for the next puzzle contest.
