The spinning puzzle plateau is sealed with lacquer finish to prevent warping. Use it again and again for all of your puzzles in progress. Some of the wood tones may vary with some assembly required. "I recommend buying the regular size (500-1000 pieces) rather than the jumbo. It's so big that you can't get around it! The puzzle table is well-made with 4 nice drawers, but we've purchased a different one hoping it's better suited for what we want."
